How FlyRank handles personal data. Last updated 11 October 2026.
Who is responsible for your data?
FlyRank, run by Jean Bed Essounda and Hassan Gillani in Manchester, UK, is the controller of the personal data described here. To ask a question or use your rights, email hello@flyrank.co.uk.
What data do we collect, and why?
We collect only what we need, and we explain each use below.
- Enquiries. If you email us, phone us or use an enquiry form, we receive what you give us: usually your name, email address, phone number, business name, website and your message. We use it to reply, to carry out the free visibility check you ask for and, if you go ahead, to take steps towards a contract. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to answer you and to take steps you ask for before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in running our business.
- Customers. If you become a customer, we also hold the details needed to deliver and invoice the work, such as billing details and access to the accounts we are asked to work on. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you and meeting our legal duties, such as keeping accounting records.
- Website analytics. With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It uses cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can refuse or withdraw at any time. If you do not consent, Google Analytics does not load.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider and security tools keep ordinary server logs, such as IP address, browser and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe.
Do we share your data?
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers who help us run the business, under their data protection terms: our website hosting provider, our email provider and Google (for analytics, if you consent). We may also share it where the law requires, for example with HMRC or a regulator.
Is your data sent outside the UK?
Some providers, including Google, may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards the UK GDPR allows, such as the UK’s data bridge arrangements or standard contractual clauses.
How long do we keep your data?
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Customer records and invoices: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, which is what UK tax rules require.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics 4 is set to keep event data for 14 months.
- Server logs: a short rolling period set by our hosting provider.
What are your rights?
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format and, where we rely on consent, to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@flyrank.co.uk and we will reply within one month. You can change your cookie choices at any time on our cookie policy page.
How do you complain?
Please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by phone on 0303 123 1113.
